Repetition plays a critical role in several areas of life, including finance and mental health. It helps in forming habits, understanding complex concepts, and promoting mental resilience. As you know by now, I talk a lot about things that I have struggled with over the years. Finance is an area that I’ve had to pound repetition after repetition in my mind to grasp the depth of knowledge I now have. Mental Health is something we should al take more serious. People in this world are suffering in silence and the answer is between their ears. I was one of those people that repetitively failed at life.
I feel like repetition is more important than we realize. Some experts say it takes twenty-one days to develop a new habit. Malcom Gladwell (big fan) in his book, “Outliers” says it takes ten-thousand hours to become an expert in your field. I’m a firm believer in shooting for a twenty-one day goal to grasp a new skill. But when I want to master something, I know I need a lot more than twenty-one days. I need ten-thousand hours, which equates to roughly 4.8 years if you work on mastering something new for forty hours per week. I’ve broken this down to seven essential reasons we should all pay more attention to repetition.
